About Jennie
Hello! My name is Jennie, and I am a Portland-based videographer. I draw from my skills in sound design, photography, animation, and camera operating to create all types of multimedia, ranging from documentary to podcasts to paper-cut animation. My hope, in all my work, is that the people I’m working with, those onscreen, and the audience, feel empowered, seen, complex, and beautiful, in all senses of the word.
I come from a background in education, research, and activism, and it’s the reason I’m now in this field! From my prior experience, I learned how to use multimedia as a tool to document community-based knowledge, honor the stories often not told, and support movement building. I carry this with me in all the work I do.
I am also very passionate about art education, and am committed to creating and supporting initiatives that share multimedia skills and empower people, particularly children and teens, to tell their own story. I especially love collaborating with activists and community groups, and welcome organizers to reach out for any photography/sound/video needs!
